Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival 2016

Heads up everyone! AirAsia teamed up with Kalibo Ati-Atihan Sto. Nino Foundation, Inc. (KASAFI) to join everyone in the celebration of the colourful and vibrant Ati-Atihan Festival 2016, set to happen from January 8 to 17 in Kalibo, Aklan.

This means that AirAsia is the official airline partner for next year’s Ati-Atihan Festival! And it is ready to fly with you!

So, what is in store for everyone? First, Philippine AirAsia, being the official carrier, will be actively participating in the Ati-Atihan Festival 2016 by supporting KASAFI’s activities, pageants, and parades. Besides this, AirAsia will also be providing free flights for invited guests of the “Search for Mutya It Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2016.” And for the general public, AirAsia will be giving out promotional fares so that travellers and locals can have more money to be spent in the festivities.

Gerard Peñaflor, Philippines AirAsia Head of Commercial, said that it’s an honor for AirAsia to be the official airline partner for the Ati-Atihan Festival 2016.  “Our team of highly trained pilots and cabin crew are excited to welcome everyone who will be traveling to and from Kalibo to be part of next year’s festivities,” he furthered.

A member of the AirAsia Group, Philippines AirAsia has been named by Skytrax for 7 consecutive years already as the world’s best low cost carrier. It flies direct to Kalibo from Manila, Incheon, and Kuala Lumpur. Soon, it will fly to Kaliboo from Puerto Princesa City (Palawan) via Fly-Thru service beginning early next year.

The festival organizing team is doing our best to create the finest and most memorable celebration in the history of Ati-Atihan festival  in honor of Señor Sto. Niño de Kalibo.”

KASAFI is the duly appointed festival organizer of the Ati-Atihan Festival 2016 which is dubbed as the “Mother of All Festivals” in the country.

Its highlights include a beauty pageant that will happen on January 8 with special prizes from AirAsia, Kaenan sa PlazaHala-Bira Ati-Atihan nights, an Aklan products showcase, an Aklan visual arts exhibit and street bazaar that will occur from January 11 to 17, and of course, Sadsad Ati-Atihan contest which is a street-dancing contest that will take place on January 16.
